XpressAmerica Windows Vista Dial-up Configuration/Setup

"What is Windows Vista?"
Windows Vista, released at the beginning of 2007, is THE Newest version of the Windows Platform. After over 20 years of development, Windows is the most widely used operating system of it's time. More information about Windows Vista can be found HERE (wikipedia) or HERE (Microsoft).

Here we will discuss how to get your Windows Vista to connect to XpressAmerica's Dial-up Service by creating a Generic Connection:

To set up Remote Access from your desktop for Windows Vista, please follow the instructions below.

1. From your desktop, click on the Windows Start icon ( ) and click Connect to

2. Click Set up a connection or network at the bottom of the dialogue box.

3. Select Set up a dial-up connection and click Next.

4. Type in the XpressAmerica Dial-up phone number (15006990087), your Username and Password, and a Connection name (XpressAmerica or XA). Check the box to Allow other people to use the connection, and click connect.

NOTE: the USERNAME is your FULL XpressAmerica E-mail
Passwords are CaSe-sEnSaTivE

5.  You will see this window as the connection you created tests and connects to XpressAmerica.

6. Once connected to the internet the dialogue box should look like this.

Make a Shortcut (Optional)

7. To make a shortcut of the connection on your Desktop, Click the Start Icon (). Then Click Control Panel and then open up the Network Connections box.

Click and drag the XpressAmerica or XA connection onto your Desktop and a shortcut will be placed there. Click Create Shortcuts Here and you will have created a shortcut.
